I’m still musing over the words, spoken by Poet, Amir Sulaiman during the Evening At The Crest event this summer.
As he stood on stage, lights shining bright, full of passion to share his thoughts about an essay he had read. Profoundly he mentioned how Allah is his all mighty wisdom and power created man. Not only did he create man once, but he created man million and billions of times over. He created man each with his own individual purpose and mark of identity. His fingerprint.
No two people, even identical twins share a fingerprint. In his absolute Allah created man uniquely, every single time over and over , and over again. As tears rolled down my cheek, like sweat down a back in 100 degree Cali weather I cried. I cried because of this profound truth, I cried because the brother remind each and everyone of us, just how profound we are.
Comically he mentioned how a 6th line of his poem wanted to be the 7th, but yet how important it was that it stood in its place for what it was. How each of us is like a finger print, or a specific line of poetry; each with our own purpose. In not fulfilling the purpose the whole system can come crashing down. How each of us is connected to the next and how playing our individual parts brings about a whole.
It is a reminder of my own philosophy. We are each like individual puzzle pieces, apart of something larger then ourselves. It is when we come together that we become complete.
